I started using Blogger almost three years ago and Blogger really means a lot to me. I learnt how to write through blogger, I learnt how to share stories with blogger, discover people and friends with blogger and much more. Really blogger is an important part of my life that taught me how to publish my ideas and really inspired me to do so. I have developed lot skills using this platform and so blogger has been a lot beneficial for my educational and thus personal development. I am talking all these things today because Blogger has now become ten years old and I really want to Wish Blogger a Happy 10th Birthday.
I wish blogger gets improved day by day. Meanwhile Blogger also has promised the community to bring some changes the users have sought for. “Wait, what? What we could give you? That’s right. This is our birthday — but we’re celebrating your contributions over the years. …… As we turn ten, we wanted to give you some presents to commemorate this milestone and thank you for letting us be part of your story” writes blogger in its official buzz page (read the full story at Blogger Buzz). And blogger is already working on to release the changes which you can know through the Official Blogger Buzz.

I am really excited that Blogger is bringing many features that we had requested and even those features they think are important to our Blogger Community.
On 10th birthday of Blogger for those who haven’t gone through the evolution of Blogger, here is a short history of service from the Wikipedia page of Blogger.
• On August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs. As one of the earliest dedicated blog-publishing tools, it is credited for helping popularize the format.
• In February 2003, Pyra Labs was acquired by Google under undisclosed terms. The acquisition allowed premium features (for which Pyra had charged) to become free. About a year later, Pyra Labs’ co-founder, Evan Williams, left Google.
• In 2004, Google purchased Picasa; it integrated Picasa and its photo sharing utility Hello into Blogger, allowing users to post photos to their blogs.
• On May 9, 2004, Blogger introduced a major redesign, adding features such as web standards-compliant templates, individual archive pages for posts, comments, and posting by email.
• On August 14, 2006, Blogger launched its latest version in beta, codenamed “Invader”, alongside the gold release. This migrated users to Google servers and included some new features.
• In December 2006, this new version of Blogger was taken out of beta.
• By May 2007, Blogger had completely moved over to Google operated servers.
• In October 2008, Turkey temporarily blocked access to Blogger.

In fact Blogger is progressing gradually and its users like us who make it a better community. So make the most of blogger and yes keep waiting to see the change Blogger is introducing… you will love it.

Well, blogger has changed over time and lots of things have changed and even some facts have now turned into myths. Most people have concepts such as Blogger is only for beginners or who are brand new into blogging business. Here we will discuss some of such top 4 myths of Blogger.

Only Few Features:

This is the top myth that blogger offers just few features to bloggers. In fact there is no such free software that has as advanced features as blogger. The competitor wordpress software (not the self hosted one) too doesn’t provide as much features as the Blogger one. New features are being added over span of time and the blogger is improving daily by providing users with new and exciting features. The blogger facility to make use of custom templates and add any Html code you need has made blogger much better.

Just Good for Beginners:

People have a myth that blogger has limited functions which just makes it good for the beginner bloggers only. But the case is really different if you can make most of blogger by knowing it functions and aspects. Blogs like Blogger Buster would not use Blogger software if it really was the case. Google has really done a lot make the blogger feature rich and though it’s easy it use, it still remains good blogging platform for professionals too.

Blogs Disappear Suddenly:

Blogger doesn’t remove your blog if you follow the blogger policy carefully. Most blogs are removed because of some type of policy infringement. So make sure you follow the policies carefully and definitely this is going to be a myth. And yes Blogger gives warning if anything as such happens and you can request an review from your blogger dashboard but if you fail to do that within some 15-20 days your blog will be automatically removed.

System Not stable:

After Blogger have moved to hands of Google, I think this has completely been a myth. In past bloggers had complained that the system would go down making both the dashboard and page unavailable. This is no more a problem with Blogger now and it has been more stable now.

I hope you too have know some myths of blogger and if so please feel free to share with us.
